How Green Nursery Ltd is seeking a Horticultural Estimator to join our team. This permanent, full-time role is central to our operations and is ideal for someone eager to advance their horticultural career in a thriving wholesale nursery.

We are looking for someone with strong computer literacy, as this is a critical requirement for the role and excellent customer facing skills. You will be working in a small, supportive team, so a positive attitude is essential. The role suits someone who thrives on responsibility, is proactive and enjoys problem solving and is confident handling both day to day coordination and more challenging customer situations.

Located in the picturesque Kent countryside near Hever Castle, How Green Nursery is a respected family-run wholesale nursery with over 40 years of experience, producing over 200,000 plants annually. We supply high-quality plants to garden designers, landscapers and retailers across the UK. The Role

This varied and exciting position within a seasonally fast-paced environment, involves liaising with customers including garden designers and landscapers to meet their plant needs. You will be responsible for compiling quotes using our nursery management system and coordinating with other growers for outsourced plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile quotes for garden designers and landscapers using our nursery management system (TSD Wintree)
  • Communicate with growers in the UK and abroad for outsourced plants
  • Process accepted quotes through to picking and fulfilment stages
  • Co-ordinate delivery schedules and logistics
  • Support the wider team
  • Provide excellent customer service, both verbal and written
  • Welcome and assist customers both on-site and over the phone
  • Act as a central point of contact for delivery related queries and issue resolution
  • Create monthly KPIs, including conversion rates, average spend and follow-up communications.
Ideal Candidate
  • Excellent IT skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and AI (experience with computerised nursery management software is advantageous)
  • Clear and confident communicator – both with our customers and internal teams
  • Passion for plants and horticulture (plant knowledge is beneficial)
  • Reliable, practical and enjoys being part of a close-knit, family-run business
  • Strong work ethic, flexibility and a willingness to learn
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities, especially during seasonal peak periods.
