Pittosporum Midget in 10 litre pot

Spotlight on… Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Midget’

Pittosporum are a very popular line here at the nursery, understandably so. There are so many different varieties now and they are versatile. Pittosporum grow very quickly and are a cost-effective solution compared to slower growing Ilex or Taxus. Use as stand-alone specimen, create hedging, or topiarise, ball shape being the most popular. We stumbled across this relatively new cultivar Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Midget’ last year and have added it to our growing programme. It’s a wonderfully compact evergreen shrub with a dense, rounded habit that will naturally keep its shape, even without pruning.

Before we knew it, Chelsea Flower Show was upon us and we grew the plants for our good pals Chilstone and their beautiful trade stand. They were awarded

Get Planting Now!

This year is flying by at a tremendous rate of knots! It’s the end of November & Christmas is only a whisker away! Whilst gardeners are putting their gardens to bed for the Winter, designers & landscapers go up a gear. Autumn/early Winter is the best time to plant trees, hedging and shrubs, especially bare root & rootball material. The ground is still warm, encouraging root growth and there’s moisture in the soil. Come Spring, the plants will be established and

We have been busily potting up the last few months and the nursery is now brimming with lots of
