Charlotte Molesworth in her topiary garden

A Visit to Balmoral!

What a garden, what a woman!

Tonight, How Green Nursery will be presenting a talk to the North Tonbridge Horticultural Society on the subject of topiary. Whilst researching the fascinating art, a chance discovery was made. Not too far from the nursery in the village of Bennenden lays the Balmoral topiary garden, created and cared for by Charlotte Molesworth and her husband Donald.

The garden is not open to the public, so a very polite phone call and a battering of eyelids meant we very kindly were offered an invite!

What an amazing afternoon! Charlotte personally guided us round the garden giving us an insight into her amazing knowledge, not only about topiary, but gardening as a whole. With Cherry Ingram as a neighbour, some great stories could be told over tea and delicious home made cake!

Public Open Weekends 2020:
18 & 19 April
6 & 7 June
5 & 6 September

We are a wholesale nursery, growing and supplying plants to the horticultural professions. However, we also hold a series of open weekends, just three times a year, where we are open to the general public. These events are usually in April, June and September.

On these open days all are welcome to view and purchase plants and enjoy tea and cake in the garden.

In addition, we also host regular talks and group visits. Please check our Public News page  or subscribe to our Public Events Newsletter.
